A vintage Tensai TFL-809 stereo cassette deck, manufactured in Japan, featuring an attractive brushed-aluminium front panel, twin illuminated analogue VU meters and a classic mechanical cassette transport.
Designed for recording and playback of compact cassettes, the TFL-809 offers support for Normal, Chrome and Metal tapes, together with Dolby noise reduction and manual recording-level adjustment.
This particular example has recently received maintenance, including replacement of the drive belts, cleaning and adjustment, making it a nice choice for anyone looking for a traditional analogue cassette deck.

The deck is in reasonably presentable vintage condition, although it shows noticeable signs of previous use.

Scratches and scuff marks across the aluminium front panel.

More noticeable cosmetic marks around the right-hand microphone inputs and lower-right corner.

Some marks and scratches along the upper front edge.

Light wear and ageing on the cassette controls and surrounding surfaces.

Minor oxidation and discolouration visible on the rear metal panel.

Black textured casing shows general age-related wear.

Both VU meter illuminations are working, as shown in the photographs.
